FAQ

Choosing a countertop material.

What's the difference between quartz and quartzite?
Quartz is an engineered, non-porous surface that never needs sealing and comes in consistent colors. Quartzite is a natural stone with marble-like veining that is harder than granite but should be sealed periodically. Quartz is the lower-maintenance choice; quartzite offers one-of-a-kind natural patterns.
Which countertop material is the most durable?
Porcelain and quartz are the most durable for everyday use — both resist scratches and stains, and porcelain is also heat- and UV-proof. Granite and quartzite are very hard natural stones that hold up well to daily use.
Do granite countertops need to be sealed?
Yes. Natural stones like granite and quartzite should be sealed periodically — typically once a year — to resist stains. Engineered quartz and porcelain are non-porous and never need sealing.
Can you help me choose the right material?
Yes. We walk you through durability, look, maintenance, and budget for granite, quartz, quartzite, and porcelain, and show you full slabs before you decide.
